The sculpture4kids National School Sculpture Competition with thousands of pounds in prize money. – Boris Johnson (Mayor of London) ‘I SALUTE THE EFFORT, ENERGY AND TALENT OF THE CHILDREN. IT WAS BRILL AND THE WINNERS WERE FANTABULOUS” –
“Baroness Peta Buscombe (former Shadow Minister for Culture, Media and Sport and Legal Affairs, House of Lords) said “This wonderful initiative is particularly important to raise awareness of the truly woeful lack of funding for arts education, and creative activities generally in schools”
Launched in 2003, sculpture4kids is now in it's 5th year. During this time, it has built up an impressive school database nationwide. Each year we have chosen 24 finalists from the many hundreds of entries and divided the prize money between 4 different winning age groups. To date, 14 schools have been able to expand and grow their Art Departments with the money they have been awarded.
This year 2008/9, we are re-launching our website and the sculpture4kids Competition is now totally on-line!
Now, teachers and students can browse our site, view our gallery which shows last year’s finalists, write to us with your ideas and comments using our very own blog site, and even learn ‘how to’ by visiting our teacher’s corner !
Entering the Competition couldn’t be easier. Schools simply have to download the Entry Form and email it to us. (Once your students have finished their entries, just send us the images via the internet and they will be placed in our cyber gallery, to await the judging!
